On Monte Lemos in Luz a young portuguese architect built 6 semi-detached villas, each acccommodating 4 - 6 persons and also two villas for 6 to 8 persons. The sensational sea view at the nearby Atlantic Ocean and the exclusive feeling of living in these noble furnished villas make every holiday a unique and unforgettable experience. The large terraces in front of the pool at the ground floor whose roofs are supported by columns invite you to stay with garden furnitures and sunloungers. An irrigation systems ensures that the tropical plants in the garden can unfold in all their beauty.

The type of mansions to rent include a large villa and four smaller villas. The large villa is exactly double the size of the semi detached villas. It has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. There are two open fire places in the extra large living room. Each villa has a swimming pool and either a garage or a covered parking space. The bedrooms with bathroom and additional guest WC (some of which have a second shower) are situated at the upper floor. To fully exploit the sea view the spacious living room with dining area is situated at the first floor. 2 large roofed terraces, each with an outside barbecue and situated at the first floor, and a smaller balcony adjacent to the kitchen provide seats for any need and any time of day. The villas are equipped with air conditioning, heating and satellite TV, as well as an open fire place in the living room.

The small complex of Mira Luz ist situated on Monte Lemos, high above the rocky coast and old town of Luz. The villas are located in a closed condominium in hillside situation and in colonial style in a mansion quarter with tropical gardens. As a private access road is reserved for owners and guests tranquility and privacy are guaranteed in this exclusive area. Distance to the old town is about 1,5 km, and to the beach about 2 km; various shopping possibilities, innumerable bars and many good restaurants are close by, in particular the atmospheric restaurant Fortalezza, which is located in a former fort directly above the cliffs of Praia da Luz - reserve a table, preferably in the garden. Luz is an idyllic, picturesque place which managed to keep the identity of a typical portuguese fishing village in the old part of the town. Although an exclusive mansion quarter developed at the west of the mountainside Luz has remained a quiet, unspoilt and friendly place whose friendly habitants exude a bride calmness. Romantic labyrinthine alleys meet small, whitewashed mansions and blooming gardens. On old, morbid seeming walls you will discover an abundance of wildgrowing flowers, flourishing in the Mediterranean climate. In the evening the music of Fado can be heard coming from the taverns and the distinctive aroma of sardinas grilled on charcoal can be smelled in the alleys. The wide, sandy beach of Praia da Luz has a rock cliff to the east. Low tide reveals a small cave. To the west is a rocky coast with a palm fringed promenade - also called "Avenida dos Pescadores" - leading to the old fort, renovated as the restaurant Fortalezza. Below these battlements is an intimate plaza with benches, old lanterns and flowers. Especially at night when the excitement has settled down and when only the waves can be heard breaking on the rocks below it is worth to stay for a while. |  |
