The traditional country house lies near the sea in the nature protection area "Ria Formosa". It offers a beautiful view and the kind of isolation which is only seldom found at the Algarve coast. There is a large patio with tables and chairs in front of both houses. Here you can enjoy your morning coffee, a self prepared dinner consisting of the fresh products of the region or a cool drink at the end of the day.

The 250 year old house has been renovated cautiously. In an authentic, country-specific atmosphere it offers all modern comfort you don´t want to do without even in your holidays.
The 32 square metres large pool, the richly planted garden and the badminton court are available for the guests. A small playground is available for the children.
The larger part of the house offers space for up to 8 persons and 1 baby. It has a living area, completely equipped kitchen, washing machine, dining room and bedroom with double bed and bathroom en-suite. The house also offers a bedroom with 2 single beds, a bedroom with 4 single beds, another bathroom and a seperate WC. A double bedroom with access to the roof terrace is located on the upper floor. There is a wonderfully designed barbecue area with summer kitchen adjacent to the kitchen.
The smaller house adjoins the larger one and has a large living room with double sofa bed, kitchen living with dining corner, bedroom with double bed and shower bath and offers space for up to 4 persons. A stairway leads from the kitchen up to a roof terrace. There is a separate, quit seat with barbecue area for the guests next to the house. After consultation with the Landlord after a washing machine can be shared by the guests.
The houses are furnished with heating for the cooler season, wood stove, electric iron, internet access, cd player and satellite TV. 2 baby beds and baby highchair are available upon request. Bed linen and towels are provided, big towels should be brought separately. The houses are cleaned twice a week; additional house help is provided on request for a fee. Pets are not admitted; smoking is allowed in the outdoor area.
Both houses can be rented together by a larger group or by acquainted families. They offer space for 14 persons and 2 babys.

The holiday home is located in the nature protection area "Ria Formosa", a labyrinth of lagoons crisscrossed by an infinite number of natural rivers and small lakes which is seperated from the Atlantic Ocean by sand dunes. Although being located close to famous villages and tourist regions the nature protection area is still a wonderful quiet area. It can be explored by foot or by bike on small roads and paths while experiencing the unique flora and fauna. This year a couple of storks has chosen the holiday home to build their nest and to produce offspring.
The lagoons are located only a short march away from the holiday home. The clear and warm water invites you to swimming even out of season.
From Olhão and Fuzeta, ferries leave regularly for the islands „Ilha de Armona“, „Culatra“ and „Farol“ which lie in the Atlantic Ocean in front of the lagoons.
Olhão, a small typical town at the Algarve with mainly portuguese inhabitants lies only 5 km away. It has many shopping possibilities and restaurants and a very good fish market. Located a bit to the west at river Gilão, the charming village of Tamira invites you to stroll through the alleys in the afternoon. You will find further shopping possibilities, cafes and restaurants in Faro which is 15 km away.
Furhter worthwhile destinations are the theme park "Zoomarine" with dolphins and seals, Sagres and Cabo de São Vicente at the most southwestern point of Europe. The mountains in the interior of the Algarve can be reached within 10 minutes by car and the Spanish border is only 40 minutes away by car. Sevilla can be reached within 2 hours and Lisbon within approximately 2,5 hours by car.
Besides swimming, wandering and bike riding there are various other possibilities to do sports on vacation. Golf is one of the major sports at the Algarve (within a radius of 30 minutes drive from the holiday home there are 19 golf courts). But kite surfing, wind surfing, sailing and surfing can be practiced in the lagoons and in the Atlantic Oceans, too. |  |
